A video of Filipino prisoners dancing to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" in bright orange uniforms has become an instant worldwide hit on the video sharing website YouTube.

Inmates perform the coordinated dance routine as part of their morning exercise ritual at a prison in Cebu, central Philippines.

Clips of the men grooving in harmony for the famous Thriller sequence, complete with zombie moves, is a huge hit, attracting over one million views since it was posted last week.

Byron Garcia, who oversees the jail and introduced the dance routines last year, loaded the videos onto the internet.

"I want the prison system to learn from this," Garcia said.

"The inmates are after all human beings and the inmates after all, once inside, know that they have committed mistakes, let them enjoy their stay."

The online audience certainly enjoys their sense of rhythm.

"I usually have some kinda witty banter. But not this time, I'm just completely speechless," wrote one viewer on YouTube.

We were walking back home from the car park opposite my block (our own car park is known for being notoriously full all the time. Getting a lot past midnight is akin to striking 4D), my arm linked in hers as we quietly strolled back home. We had spent the night at a friend's place, eating moon cake and having a wonderful time.

"My wedding anniversary with your Daddy just passed, you know?"

I stop and think. Thursday...

"Yes of course I know."

"Do you remember our anniversary date?"

"20 September. How can I forget? Daddy used to remind us to buy you a card and keep ourselves busy on that day cos he'd always have something special planned for you... Like the year he shooed us all out of the house because he had prepared an awesome dinner for you at home. And every year he'd 'surprise' you with lilies. Your favourite."

She stops walking and looks at me, appreciating the fact that her youngest daughter remembers the details.

"It would have been 28 years," she says softly.

If love was audible, I think that would have been it.

Music is a thing of ethereal beauty when Corrinne May creates it. For the homegrown singer-songwriter weaves such tenderness into her pretty melodies that audiences worldwide fall under her gentle spell with each recording and performance.

This December, the creator of such well-loved songs as Fly Away comes home to Singapore from Los Angeles where she is based to celebrate a festive season which holds special meaning for her - Christmas – with a concert. Corrinne May will perform new compositions as well as uniquely-arranged Christmas favourites, accompanied by a string ensemble and choir.

A Literature graduate from the National University of Singapore and a songwriting and film composition graduate from Berklee College of Music, Corrinne May has created songs which have been featured on MTV Asia and ABC television dramas, sung a theme song for Columbia/Tristar feature, So Close, and collaborated with Grammy-winning songwriters Carole King and Carole Bayer Sager.
